Whats considered excellent credit score 2
Whats
considered “excellent” credit score? The answer to
this question is very simple. Here are the credit scores and the category that
each score falls into. 750 - 850 Excellent 660 - 749 Good 620 - 659 Fair 350 - 619 Poor
The first ones to start evaluating people based on their credit history are the Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO). They have come up with a secret mathematical formula that allows them to put all the data about your credit history into a computer and receive a number. Your score is being calculated by credit bureaus. These bureaus carefully collect information about you and with it calculate your score. Any score over 750 points is whats considered “excellent” credit score. You shouldn’t check your score too many times because they consider this risky behavior and it will result in point deduction from your score.
Sometimes whats considered “excellent” credit score depends on your creditor. For example, many times people with a FICO score of 720 or even 700 are given all the benefits that people with over 750 have. It depends on what you are applying for. If you are applying for a credit card, chances are that you will be treated as if your score is excellent, even if it is actually below 750 (but still above 700). It's a little bit harder to get the same preferences as the people with excellent credit rating if you are applying for a home loan or a mortgage, because the sums of money are much higher and so is the risk. If you are applying for an auto loan, and your score is above 700 but not yet 750, you will most probably get the very best rates as well. Different creditors will treat you differently so feel free to shop around and find the best loan that suits you. |
